The lodge is located about 25 Kms. from the Corcovado National Park,
which is the most remote and sought after park in the system. We can
arrange guided overnight hikes through the park as well as day excursions
in through Carate, on the Pacific coast.

- Park size; 108,022 acres protected.
- Eight distinct habitats ranging from mountain forests to marshes and
swampland.
- Scientists have already identified over 500 species of trees, 285
birds, 139 mammals, 116 amphibians and reptiles, and 16 species of fresh
water fish.
- Over 4000 millimeters of rain fall per year, over 100 inches per
year!
- National Geographic Foundation declared the Osa Peninsula as one of
the best biological spots on the earth.
- Exotic creatures indigenous to the Corcovado National Park,
including, Scarlet Macaws, Tapirs, Crocodiles, Blue Morphis, Howler,
Spider Capuchin and Squirrel monkeys.
- The giant Jaguar as well as three other species of cats not to
mention the Harpy Eagle, the worlds largest bird of prey, capable of
lifting sloth's as well as monkeys and large estuary fish.
- Poison dart frogs abound.
- To hike across the entire park can take up to three days with over
night camping at the ranger stations at La Leona and Sirrena.
Dry season starts in January and the rainy season begins in
